As a professional cake smash photographer in Poole, Dorset, I offer fun, relaxed and beautifully styled first birthday sessions designed to capture your baby’s unique personality in a joyful, memorable way.

Held in my cosy studio in Poole, Dorset, these sessions include timeless portraits, the cake smash itself, and a lovely splash in the tub afterwards to round off the experience (ready to take home a clean, sleepy baby).
Each setup is in line with my vibe, styled to suit your little one, with a no-fuss theme which focuses solely on your baby, with soft tones and a handmade cake from our wonderful baker to match.

Cake Smash Photography in Poole, Dorset — Celebrating Your Baby’s First Birthday
The session is divided into 3 parts:
We start by taking some milestone portraits of your little one. We capture their important features, their chubby little cheeks and their big smiles. This gives them time to get used to the studio environment too.
Lastly, we finish up the session with a bubbly bath. This is my favourite way to photograph your little one enjoying some splash time, whilst getting them all clean and ready for the best car nap of their life.
Then I will get the cake out, and we can let them go wild. Some babies will explore with cautiousness, inspecting every inch of the cake with a stern look of 'so you're letting me play with my food?' whilst others will get stuck in and take the 'smash' part of a cake smash very seriously. No two babies will react the same, and part of the fun is capturing your little ones personality!
Your cake smash includes a beautiful cake** from our wonderful baker and decorative balloons. I want the focus to be on your little one at all times, so I do not clutter my sessions with unnecessary props. Simple neutral is my vibe, and I hope it's yours too!

A milestone you just don't want to miss. You've made it through a whole year of parenting your darling little one. A year of firsts. A year of change. It's just SO special, and it deserves to be celebrated.
How to prepare for your cake smash session..
I provide just about everything for your session, but please don't forget the following essentials:
- Neutral outfit of your choice, if you do not wish to take advantage of the client wardrobe. I recommend wearing neutral clothing (whites, beiges, browns, creams or pastels) in line with the style of my sessions, and I have a vast selection of outfits in my client wardrobe which you are more than welcome to choose from. Rompers, vests and nappy covers work really well.
- A towel to dry your little one off at the end- SO IMPORTANT (and often forgotten!)
- Small snacks are good to have on hand, just in case they may need a little bit of encouragement to try the cake.
- Water/juice. Cake smashing is thirsty work!
Optional- Your own bubble bath, for those who have sensitive skin. Although I’ll always ensure the products I use are safe for sensitive skin, I’m unable to guarantee a particular brand of bubble bath. If this is a problem, please bring your own and I would be happy to use it.
