Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most incredible moments — whether this baby is your first, second, or fifth, every new arrival deserves to be celebrated and remembered. As a specialist newborn photographer based in Poole, Dorset, I’m here to help you preserve those fleeting early days with beautifully styled, natural photographs that tell your family’s story. They only stay tiny for such a short amount of time, and it really does fly by. You are adjusting as a family, learning all about this new little person, and sometimes the moments just slip away. Let me stop time for just a second, and give you photographs you will cherish in years to come. Your session is designed to be an experience that your whole family can be involved in, and you are invited to join for family and sibling poses as part of your session.
When you book your newborn session with Our Little Darling Photography, you will receive a session guide as part of your booking, which will answer any questions you might have about what to expect, as well as sharing my best tips on how to prepare for your session. I want your experience to be as relaxing as possible. No one needs any added stress whilst adjusting to life with a newborn, and my sessions are designed so you can just come in, sit down and enjoy watching your tiny baby with total admiration whilst I do all the work.

— Capturing Your Baby's First Precious Days
When do i need to book?
You can book in with me as soon as you know your due date, after your 12 week scan. I will then add your due date to the diary, and wait for the arrival of your little one. Once they are born, we can schedule your session. Baby’s are unpredictable, so please don’t worry if they arrive early/late. I will always ensure I can fit you in.
what age do you photograph newborns?
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is between 5-14 days, as this age is perfect for the curly, squishy, super sleepy images. I will, however, photograph babies up to 21 days old, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if your baby is already born!
If you’ve missed this stage, then I offer a more relaxed newborn session for those older newborns. Perfect for ages 3 weeks-3 months.
Where will my session take place?
What can I expect from a session?
I have a beautiful studio space in Poole, Dorset. All of my newborn photoshoots take place here. There is limited parking on the road directly outside. There is a local green across the road, which is perfect for siblings to run off steam whilst they wait for their turn having their photographs taken, and a shop directly opposite too, for all your snack/caffeine fix needs!
No baby is the same, so my sessions are baby-led. I will follow their lead, and make sure they are always completely happy and content. Sessions can take anywhere between 2-4 hours on average, with plenty of feeding and changing breaks If needed, and I take my time on each pose to ensure you have a beautiful gallery.
